(New Yorker) & "NYC’s Pre-eminent Balkan Band" (L Magazine), The Zagnut Cirkus Orkestar is a Brooklyn-based Eastern European music ensemble that plays up-tempo, soulful and haunting songs and melodies of the Turkish, Slavic, Greek, Romani and Jewish people found throughout the Balkan Peninsula. Blending traditional music with up-to-date sounds, they are a village band walking from the groom's house to the bride's house on a warm afternoon suddenly meeting up with the funkiest and finest NY musicians and creating something new, unexpected and completely captivating. Their sound is audacious, unfettered, off the hook. Timeless grooves and beats outside the box create stirring concerts, all night dance parties and weddings that never end.
