The beaded installation pieces I create are a physical document of a meditational process. They are Morse code translations of poems and texts that often highlight repetitive daily activities. They are considered three- dimensional “drawings” that can also be worn. The nature of the chosen texts is reflected in each piece’s construction – cyclical, at times arduous – to underscore the interconnection between meditation and daily life. The beaded installation pieces I create are a physical document of a meditational process. My work aims to reveal a common thread between meditation and everyday actions in relation to notions of the Domestic. I attempt to honor ordinary events and transform personal taboo into cathartic acceptance. My process frequently employs repetition as a method to correlate every day occurrences with spiritual devotion. Through this process, I attempt to highlight fragile aspects of the human psyche to imply our interconnection and interdependence.
