KAGERO is a Japanese gypsy rock band based in Brooklyn, NY with tendrils reaching across the globe. "What kind of music do you guys play?" is always the question. After struggling for a long time to come up with some kind of accurate description for our sound, we're going with nomadic world rock. However the debate rages on... the following terms are also under consideration: urban-gypsyphonic, border-jumping feelgood rock, kazrockistanian and international debtor's prison tunes. KAZ (vocals, harp, guitar) was born in a Japanese village where he cut school to play music in local clubs until he was old enough to pack up his axe and see the world. He got hisself educated in London, inebriated in Dublin, lost in the streets of Paris and finally ended up in that home of all the world's itinerants, New York City. As founding member and creative mastermind behind Kagero, Kaz pulls his influences from every and anywhere, bringing genres and killer hooks together in novel ways. He also likes Guiness. A lot.
