Meira Gottlieb

I am a New Jersey-born, Brooklyn based artist. I use photography to articulate my life by documenting my surrounding environment.

My current series of work began when I started documenting my paths through and about New York City. It has evolved into an ongoing documentation that explores the everyday sights seen as a New Yorker. My intent is to capture the everyday and banal, transforming them into artifacts of memory. Collaborating with my environment, I show the uniquely New York unfiltered view. Whether it is the view of a building or a bathroom, this series goal is to show the varied environment we all pass through. In doing so, I believe I have captured some of the intriguing settings that go unnoticed by jaded city eyes.
