I come from the South of France where I grew up. I work mostly in the media of video and photography.
I obtained a Master’s degree in Visual Arts from The National Superior School of Photography in Arles/France.
My artwork revolves around the notion of Identity or loss of Identity and how we present ourselves to the world.
I make people I film take a distance with their own self (their everyday “self”) by assigning them a role to play or by giving them a specific instruction.
In my last project called “The disappearance of the cleaning lady” (2008 - 2.32 min), I asked four cleaning ladies who have been working together for many years, to create a story about the possible and sudden disappearance of one of them.
They therefore fill their role with their own feelings.
I also stage myself through fictions, which question the transitory nature of life.
In “From Above” (2007 - 1.30 min) I filmed my body floating "in levitation" (I turned the image horizontally) and added a text about somebody experiencing the sudden loss of his body.
These surrealistic settings or stories blur the limit between reality and fiction.
