Peter Sciscioli Performance Projects was founded in 2008 to support the creative work of choreographer/director/performer Peter Sciscioli. Drawing from his background as a dancer, actor, athlete, singer and violinist, Sciscioli creates works that combine a kinetic manifestation of dynamics (physical, interpersonal, socio-political) with the body’s ability to express itself in myriad ways. His work has been presented throughout Chicago, in Brazil and Honduras, and in New York at such venues as the 92nd Street Y, Danspace Project/BRICstudio, Dixon Place, The Duke, The Flea, HERE, Joyce SoHo, The Kitchen, La MaMa, and Movement Research at the Judson Church. In 2005 he choreographed for the Bessie Schönberg Dancers and Choreographers Residency at The Yard, and in 2007 was in residence at the White Oak Plantation and a guest artist at Robert Wilson’s Watermill Center. Currently a member of Jane Comfort and Company, Sciscioli also works with Daria Fain and collaborator Robbie Cook, and is a founding member of The M6: Meredith Monk Music Third Generation. He has performed in work by such luminaries as DD Dorvillier, Philip Glass, Susan Marshall, Meredith Monk, Fiona Templeton, and Mary Zimmerman throughout New York, Chicago, and in Europe. Sciscioli is a graduate of Oberlin College. www.petersciscioli.com
