Brooklyn based Aeilushi Mistry was born and raised in India. She holds a BA in the Kalakshetra style of Bharatnatyam Dance from Gandharva University in Gujarat, India. To enhance her performance, she studied privately with numerous renowned Bharatnatyam dance gurus. She completed her advanced degree in Bharatnatyam from the Kerala Kalamandalam, School of Performing Arts in India. To understand the administration and business aspects of performing arts organizations, she studied Arts Administration at New York University. To further her knowledge, she is currently taking the DEL course -Foundation for Dance Education at the 92nd Y in NYC. In addition, to better understand and learn how different dance styles use unique movements and use of space, she briefly studied other styles lof dance such as Kathak, Kuchipudi, modern dance, and West African dance.

For the past 18 years, she has been teaching dance to children and adults. Before coming to the US, she started a dance company in India, where Aeilushi worked with hearing impaired children for 6 years. This experience gave her students confidence and the motivation to pursue dance. She has won numerous awards for her choreography and teaching abilities.

Aeilushi currently teaches in Brooklyn, New York but has participated as an instructor at various summer camps in New York City and classes in New Jersey. She has a very distinct approach in her teaching technique to bring out the natural talent of her students.
