Bergen Street Mark-out is a 40"x30"x1.25" slab of granite. I traced graffiti from an exterior wall of a bodega in brooklyn and sandblasted it into the granite slab. I then took the artwork back out to the original site and documented it in its natural setting. The painted graffiti tag no longer exists.steve pauley

I am a mixed media artist whose main concentration is with stone. I document my surroundings in permanent materials either by sandblasting or engraving. My subjects include graffiti, detritus and various temptations such as junk food and prostitutes. The work is both photorealistic and abstract depending on the subject matter.
