Performer and teacher of both Western and Japanese flutes and taiko. I spent close to 9 years in Japan studying and performing various traditional to modern Japanese music, dance and song with the taiko ensemble KODO. I left Kodo to return to NYC to play music that is equally informed by jazz, Kabuki, Noh, Japanese traditional folk music, Gagaku, western that is often greatly improvised.
