These photographs compress an elaborate sixty-second choreography into a single image. Working with digitally produced slides, I strategically project image-fragments and simple geometric forms into the landscape, and document the result through time-lapse photography. During the extended-exposure, I move through the frame with a white screen, creating a kinetic projection surface to capture and reflect parts of the projection as it travels through space. This interaction references the act of printing a negative in the darkroom, where image manipulation and optical trickery are long-established practices. In this case I am effectively "printing" in three dimensions. These photographs compress an elaborate sixty-second choreography into a single image. My artwork frustrates the viewer’s traditional orienting process, while activating more fundamental aspects of human perception. These visions explore the psychology of seeing, associating, and remembering as they act, and interact, to create meaning from a given experience.

Using photo-dynamic imagery, I foreground ambient aspects of our everyday lives including the casting of shadows, the passing of time, and the unique characteristics of the projected image. I am drawn to these subtleties because I believe we stuff many little truths into the corners of our experience, and would benefit from exploring the process that put them there.
