Caroline Carbo was born and raised in New Orleans, La where she graduated from the New Orleans Center for Creative Arts, under the direction of Miguel Lopez and mentorship of Jan Miller. She then went on to receive her BFA, Magna Cum Laude, in Dance Performance from Purchase College in 2009. While a member of the Purchase Dance Corps, she performed works by Robert Battle, Kevin Wynn, Megan Williams, Rosalind Newman, and Rosanna Seravalli. In 2010, she joined High Frequency Wavelengths Dance Company, under the artistic direction of Marilynn Danitz. With High Frequency, she performed at CAVE Art Space, in the WAXworks Festival, in the Chashama Windows Program, and most recently, at the ABUNDANCE 2010 Festival in Karlstad, Sweden.

While at Purchase College, Caroline also had concentrated studies in lighting design for dance and arts management. She held arts-management internships with SYREN Modern Dance Company and Career Transition for Dancers. After graduation, she was an assistant stage manager for Wally Cardona’s Really Real at the BAM Harvey Theater. She is currently the lighting designer for Phina and Sophie Pipia’s Generation Goat Rocket.
