As playwright, fiction and nonfiction writer and a performer, my work often focuses on words and actions that are taken for granted, overlooked or easily ignored. My latest project, New Acquisition, is a series of free literary pamphlets--brief pamphlets filled with writing and art focused on a variety of themes. The design inspiration and themes for each issue are drawn from early and contemporary American religious and political pamphlets. The distribution of the pamphlets incorporates installation and performances as a means of further engaging the public in the work, as well as an online forum for readers and participants to react to the work: http://www.newacquisition.org. The first phase of the project was funded by a Puffin Foundation Artists Grant, with residency support from Chashama.

A former fellow of the Dramatists Guild of America and recipient of a Puffin Foundation Artist Grant for prose work and a Ludwig Vogelstein Foundation Artist Grant for work on a theater piece, I have written numerous works for the stage and for print. My plays have been produced in both the UK and the US and my short stories have appeared in a handful of publications in both countries. Most recently my short stories have appeared in two different anthologies published by Route magazine, one of which has just been released this January, and also on the Guardian's website, after winning a writing competition they co-sponsored in 2006. This past December a short play of mine was included in the latest issue of KNOCK magazine. In addition I have written for such magazines as Nature, Aesthetica, and Travel New England. I have a M.Sc. from the London School of Economics in Philosophy and History of Science and a B.A. from Emerson College in Theatre Studies.
