Andre Machari Zachery is from Chicago, IL and is a Brooklyn based dancer/choreographer/artist. He originally majored in architecture at Florida A & M University before earning a BFA at the Alvin Ailey/Fordham University program in 2005. He is currently enrolled in the Performance & Interactive Media Arts/MFA program at Brooklyn College.

He is co-founder/Artistic Director of Renegade Performance Group, a Brooklyn-based company started in 2007. Through RPG, Andre's work is focused on exploring urban artistic aesthetics and expressions. His works under RPG have been supported by the Harlem Stage Fund for New Works (2008) and presented at several venues in NYC including Harlem Stage, Dixon Place, the LIU-Kumble Theater, The Ailey/Citigroup Theater, The Tank, the John Ryan Theater, and the Brooklyn Museum. RPG has toured nationally, presenting a season in Chicago at the Ruth Page Theater and the DuSable Museum. Internationally, RPG performed as the featured international company in the Cistermusica Festival 2012 in Alcobaca, Portugal. As a teacher and choreographer, he has taught master classes in New York City, Chicago, Philadelphia, Mexico City, Alcobaca (Portugal), Brussels (Belgium), and Edinburgh (Scotland). He collaborated with film director Bat-Sheva Guez of Adventure Pants; producing a short film of his duet Bedtime Stories, released in January 2012. In February 2012, Andre constructed the visual performance Washing Bones, installed throughout galleries at the Brooklyn Museum in response to the exhibit, Question Bridge: Black Males.

Andre has had an extensive performance career having worked with Elisa Monte Dance Company, Nathan Trice/Rituals (NYC), Miller-Rothlein/MIRO (Philadelphia), CeDeCe (Portugal), Compagnie THOR (Belgium), The 2006/07 Broadway National Tour of AIDA, Civic Ballet Chicago, The Opera Company of Philadelphia, and Reggie Wilson/Fist & Heel Performance Group (Brooklyn).
