A selection of narrative shorts by some of Brooklyn’s most interesting filmmakers working in this format—from a story about a young runaway living on a Brooklyn rooftop to a film about an aspiring young filmmaker who finds inspiration in his Bed-Stuy neighborhood. Followed by the Best of Scene: Brooklyn Awards and Afterparty featuring DJ Ben Allen of East Village Radio.

A new addition to Scene: Brooklyn this year is the Best of Scene: Brooklyn Audience Award. Audience members will have the opportunity to vote on-site for their favorite film at the Electric Picture Show and Framing Fiction screenings. The filmmaker from each of the two programs with the most votes wins a $250 cash prize and a pair of round trip travel vouchers from JetBlue Airways.
One Thousand Cranes, Directed by Zach Carver, World Premiere
Dorian, a romantic young runaway who lives on a rooftop in Brooklyn, makes one thousand paper cranes to get her wish: the love of graffiti artist Lorenzo.

1:26 PM, Unknown High School, New York City: a Sophomore student came into school bearing a homemade pipe bomb. The next day, six students cope with the incident. Blinded by ignorance, hatred or faith, the teens question their schoolmate's motives and reasoning.
