Through the work of six extraordinary Black Brooklyn photographers, the Skylight Gallery will examine the tumultuous intersection of the civil rights and cultural movements of the late 1960 s in Central Brooklyn. Eyewitness will feature the works of award-winning Brooklyn artists Larry Brown, Marilyn Nance, Beuford Smith, Randy Waterman, and Leroy Henderson. The artists, as eyewitnesses, have captured events, such as the "Drummer's Grove" in Prospect Park and the "Middle Passage Celebration" at Coney Island, and people, such as Ruby Dee, Ossie Davis, Nelson Mandela, and Jacob Lawrence.
