Marketing and Communications Internship

The Communications Intern will assist in organizing publicity for individual projects such as submitting listing information for events and projects, making follow-up phone calls to members of the press, researching media outlets, maintaining the press and contact database (data-entry), and archiving media coverage and visual documentation of all programs. Additionally, the Intern may help keep BAC's website up to date and do some graphic design, as needed, and assist with marketing efforts such as researching cross-marketing opportunities, conducting outreach to partners, doing mailings and maintaining BAC's social media networks (Facebook, Vimeo, Twitter, Flickr). There are opportunities for self-initiated in-depth projects relating to department needs.

Internship Period:
This is an ongoing internship. The position requires working at least two days per week, primarily weekdays and some evenings/weekends for special events.

Qualifications:
  • Candidates must be extremely detail-oriented and have excellent writing and internet research skills
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office including Word and Excel
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite is highly desirable; design experience a plus
  • He or she must be outgoing and self-confident in order to serve as a public voice for the organization


College Juniors and older, with an interest in marketing, public relations and the arts are encouraged to apply.
