BAC maintains the JPMorgan Chase Resource Center, a section of our office where we house computers with internet access, a printer, a scanner and a small reference library for BAC's constituents. The Resource Center is available to artists, teachers and community members during regular office hours, Monday - Friday, 10am - 5pm. You must call our office at 718-625-0080 to make an appointment at least 24 hours in advance in order to use the Resource Room.
BAC's collection of books was enhanced a few years ago by a generous donation of over 200 visual arts books. The art collection consists largely of monographs and books about well-known individual western artists, many with fine color reproductions. One book, on the Florentine sculptor Ghiberti, has particularly good black and white reproductions, including fine detailed photos of his famous "Gates of Paradise" and other sculptures.
In addition to the monographs, there are books covering diverse subjects, such as four Dover publications: The Complete Etchings of Rembrandt: Reproductions in Original Size; London: a Pilgrimage, by Blanchard Jerrold with 180 illustrations by Gustave Doré, first published in 1872; The Dance of Death, 41 woodcuts by Hans Holbein the Younger, a complete facsimile of the original 1538 French edition; and German Expressionist Woodcuts.
In addition to the English language books, about one fourth of the collection consists of volumes in French, German, and Italian as well as one Spanish volume: El Greco - Apostolado. These foreign language volumes are mostly monographs on individual artists, plus a few reference books.
