Reliquum by Theatre Reverb

Reliquum is a sensual tale of violence and revolution born in a futuristic metropolis. The piece will combine media, red-light cabaret, live music, Judeo-Christian and Hindu myth, and classical Indian dance-theatre to envelop spectators in a lush sci-fi noir. Interdisciplinary artists Kristin Arnesen and Radoslaw Konopka of Theatre Reverb are combining elements of Classical Indian kutiyattam with sampled media from science fiction films, factual material from revolutionary cells, live action, video, and cabaret to form this contemporary hybrid epic.

Kristin and Radoslaw are developing a unique, total theatrical experience created through a cross-discipline collaboration between artists from the US, Central Europe and Asia. They are collaborating for the first time with composer and musician Ellery Royston and kutiyattam artist Ammannur Rajaneesh Chakyar. The team is presenting a 50-minute excerpt, Initium/Finis, (the first installment of the large-scale piece) at the FRIGID New York Festival, February 2012. Kristin and Radoslaw also presented a 20-minute work-in-progress excerpt at tamtamART and HomeBase Salon in Berlin, 8/2011. Theatre Reverb intends to complete the full-scale production with their collaborators Ellery and Rajaneesh in 2013.
