6 pm - 8 pm

Hosted by BAC Folk Arts Director Kay Turner.

The goal of this meet-up is to discuss ways to enhance folk arts presentations and grant applications through discussion and collaboration.

We're inviting artists in all traditional genres—music, dance, story, visual art, ritual arts and performance—to come together to discuss possibilities for cross-cultural and cross-genre collaborations.

Kay will also discuss Brooklyn Arts Council's folk arts project for 2013: Harborlore: Where the River Meets the Sea in the Folk Imagination of Brooklyn.

Subsequent meet-ups this summer will be held by genre—separate meetings for musicians, dancers, etc. Those meetings will also include preparation for grant applications.
