Agnes Murray, Art Services Director

Agnes Murray has worked for BAC since 1998, first establishing the Print Portfolio project, and subsequently working in BAC’s administration as Interim Fiscal Manager, before moving into her current position as Art Services Director in 2001. She brings her broad range of arts experience to BAC, which includes working as a Grant Specialist for the National Endowment for the Humanities, as a visual arts professor, as a master printmaker in several fine art printmaking workshops, and as a working/exhibiting visual artist.

Areas of specialization include works on paper and painting: lithographs, monotypes, artist’s books, intaglio prints, drawings, photographs, oil and watercolor paintings that have been exhibited nationally and internationally in juried and curated group and solo exhibitions. Her work is included in the collections of Bibliothèque nationale, Paris; Library of Congress; Brooklyn Museum; San Francisco Museum of Modern Art; Harvard University; Columbia University; Toledo Museum of Art, Ohio; and Rochester Institute of Technology among many other public and private collections. In 2005 she was a recipient of a Bronx Recognizes Its Own (BRIO) artist fellowship in printmaking. She received her M.F.A. from California College of the Arts, Oakland, and her B.A. with high honors from the University of Maryland, College Park.
