Join us at a “World Leader “ Luncheon!

Seniors at the Albany Neighborhood Senior Center were asked “What would it be like if you ruled the world?” Participants created theatrical representations of world leaders that relate to the values and issues the seniors find important. Each senior will share their vision and knowledge of their country at a festive meal. They are delighted to share unique perspectives in an empowered and celebratory way. We invite the community to join us at this event to meet the dignitaries and discuss the issues.

"If I Ruled the World" is a project of the Seniors Partnering with Artists Citywide (SPARC) program at Albany Neighborhood Senior Center led by artist Mahayana "Yana" Landowne

SPARC is one of many creative aging programs for seniors administered by Brooklyn Arts Council as part of our Arts in Education program.

SPARC is a collaboration among the Department of Cultural Affairs (DCA), the Department for the Aging (DFTA) and the City's five local arts councils situated in each borough – Brooklyn Arts Council, Bronx Council on the Arts, Staten Island Arts, Lower Manhattan Cultural Council and Queens Council on the Arts. It was developed as part of Age-Friendly NYC, a citywide effort to make the City more livable for seniors, and previously ran in 2012 and 2013.  The 2014 SPARC program is supported, in part, by public funds from the Department for the Aging.

Brooklyn Arts Council (BAC) is proud to be part of this program on behalf of the borough of Brooklyn.
