A SPARC Painting Exhibit

2014

4 pm - 6 pm

Over the past four months, seniors at Prospect Hill Senior Center have been engaged in a painting workshop with SPARC artist LJ Lindhurst. Each senior artist created one or two 12" x 12" acrylic paintings based on original photographs they took of small meaningful personal objects. Join us for an exhibition of their work!

This exhibit is a project of the Seniors Partnering with Artists Citywide (SPARC) program at Prospect Hill Senior Center, led by artist LJ Lindhurst.

SPARC is one of many creative aging programs for seniors administered by Brooklyn Arts Council as part of our Arts in Education program.

SPARC is a collaboration among the Department of Cultural Affairs (DCA), the Department for the Aging (DFTA) and the City's five local arts councils situated in each borough – Brooklyn Arts Council, Bronx Council on the Arts, Staten Island Arts, Lower Manhattan Cultural Council and Queens Council on the Arts. It was developed as part of Age-Friendly NYC, a citywide effort to make the City more livable for seniors, and previously ran in 2012 and 2013.  The 2014 SPARC program is supported, in part, by public funds from the Department for the Aging.

Brooklyn Arts Council (BAC) is proud to be part of this program on behalf of the borough of Brooklyn.
