"Memory" 3rd Showing

An Original Play for Intergenerational Audiences

Jun

2014

4 pm - 6 pm

Seniors, families, and young children will gather together to see a staged performance of "Memory", an original play inspired by the childhood stories of SPARC senior participants. Seniors and professional actors perform side by side as oral and visual storytelling blend together and remind us of the universal experiences of childhood that cross generations.

All performances are FREE and open to the public!

This performance is a project of the Seniors Partnering with Artists Citywide (SPARC) program at CCNS St. Charles Jubilee Senior Center, led by artists Annie Montgomery & Lauren Jost.

SPARC is one of many creative aging programs for seniors administered by Brooklyn Arts Council as part of our Arts in Education program.

SPARC is a collaboration among the Department of Cultural Affairs (DCA), the Department for the Aging (DFTA) and the City's five local arts councils situated in each borough – Brooklyn Arts Council, Bronx Council on the Arts, Staten Island Arts, Lower Manhattan Cultural Council and Queens Council on the Arts. It was developed as part of Age-Friendly NYC, a citywide effort to make the City more livable for seniors, and previously ran in 2012 and 2013.  The 2014 SPARC program is supported, in part, by public funds from the Department for the Aging.

Brooklyn Arts Council (BAC) is proud to be part of this program on behalf of the borough of Brooklyn.
