SPARC Performance

1 pm - 2 pm

Over the past three months, a group of seniors set on a journey to create an original performance work. Their movement-based poetic performance reflects on cycles of life, nostalgia, and the laughter of life. Please come to experience this journey with us. The performance is 15 minutes long, with a DJ party to follow.

"Infinitum" is a project of the Seniors Partnering with Artists Citywide (SPARC) program at the Ridgewood Bushwick Senior Center, led by artist Ximena Garnica.

SPARC is one of many creative aging programs for seniors administered by Brooklyn Arts Council as part of our Arts in Education program.

SPARC is a collaboration among the Department of Cultural Affairs (DCA), the Department for the Aging (DFTA) and the City's five local arts councils situated in each borough – Brooklyn Arts Council, Bronx Council on the Arts, Staten Island Arts, Lower Manhattan Cultural Council and Queens Council on the Arts. It was developed as part of Age-Friendly NYC, a citywide effort to make the City more livable for seniors, and previously ran in 2012 and 2013.  The 2014 SPARC program is supported, in part, by public funds from the Department for the Aging.

Brooklyn Arts Council (BAC) is proud to be part of this program on behalf of the borough of Brooklyn.
