Katy Higgins joined BAC in 2006. She leads BAC’s day-to-day fundraising activities, writes grant proposals and reports, and coordinates special events. Katy is herself an artist and brings to BAC a personal understanding of the challenges and rewards of an artistic career. In addition to her years of Development experience, her diverse background also includes work as a technical writer at a software company and teaching and administrative positions at several non-profit arts organizations. She holds a B.A. from Oberlin College and an M.F.A. from Rutgers University.
In her own artwork, Katy uses a range of media—from drawing to video—and imagery from the natural world to create experiments that offer few conclusions, exploring the construction of scientific truth and the nature of inquiry itself.
