This workshop will provide information about the basic differences between profit and nonprofit entities, with a main focus on the requirements for organizing LLCs and for profit corporations. The federal and state requirements for starting a nonprofit organization will also be covered, such as articles of incorporation, bylaws, and the first organization meeting, as well as the IRS Code Section 501(c)(3), EIN, charitable contributions and restrictions on lobbying. An overview of fiscal sponsorships and the requirements for obtaining a fiscal sponsor will also be reviewed.
