Artist Access: An Affordable Health Plan for Uninsured Artists

Learn about Artist Access, the nationally recognized, innovative program that provides access to comprehensive preventive and primary medical care among the uninsured artist community in North Brooklyn. This health care initiative demonstrates how a grassroots, coalition approach can be applied to the problems of a medically disenfranchised community. Key issues such as eligibility, benefits to the artist, and benefits to the hospital will be addressed. The presenter will also explain how the experiences at Woodhull can be replicated in other safety net facilities and with other populations.
