Contemporary Arab Brooklyn: Sights, Sounds, and Flavors

On Saturday, May 17 from noon to 3:00p.m., BAC Folk Arts heads to Arab Bay Ridge to explore the thriving 5th Ave strip that includes Tarboosh Coffee House, Pyramids Jewelry, Diana Clothing, Princess (Amira) Music store, the Islamic Society of America Mosque and the Arab American Association. At certain stops along the way, we’ll be treated to brief performances by neighborhood music and dance artists. There will be plenty of time to explore, learn, eat, and shop!

The 5th Avenue tour is now full.

Tour participants should meet rain or shine at 12pm at Princess/Amira Music Store, which is located at 6919 Fifth Ave (east side of street, between Bay Ridge Ave and Ovington) in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn. The closest subway stop is the R to Bay Ridge Ave.
