This workshop will provide information about the basic differences between profit and nonprofit entities, with a focus on the requirements for organizing LLCs and for-profit corporations, such as articles of organization, publication requirements and filing fees. The federal and state requirements for starting a nonprofit organization will also be covered, such as articles of incorporation, bylaws, and the first organization meeting, as well as the IRS Code Section 501(c)(3), EIN, charitable contributions and restrictions on lobbying. An overview of fiscal sponsorship will also be covered.
