-Understand the fascinating alchemy of Lithography!
-Create your own posters, prints or cards!
-Print delicate, intricate drawings in any color!

Artists who love to draw must experience drawing on a stone. Four sessions creating your own lithography prints will get you hooked on this magical chemical process. You’ll draw directly on the smooth Lithographic limestone’s surface, building up with wax-based and oil-based media and scraping down with razorblades. See your most detailed and delicate drawings perfectly printed in any color. Create multiple-color process prints that evoke old fashioned book plates, or create completely unique contemporary works with this versatile print medium.

This four-week course will introduce the beginning student to stone lithography as well as hone the knowledge and skills of the experienced printmaker. Deborah Chaney is a trained Tamarind Master Printer who will guide you through every step of lithography’s fascinating alchemy. Lithography is a mystery to many, but this class will reveal the secrets. Get a handle on this bewildering chemistry that works like magic!
