AG Gallery is accepting entries for its exhibition:
“King and Queen”
+Theme of the exhibition
The theme for this open call is “King and Queen.” Artists are asked to re-think the symbolic meanings of the archetype of a king and/or a queen and expand on the idea to create an artwork of its own interpretation.
Kings and queens are seen as one of the strongest, most influential, authority figures. They are generally symbolized by absolute power, monarchy, and prosperity. Looking back at history, sometimes their leadership led them to be great heroes or ruthless tyrants.
The theme can explore the realms of imagination or depict the realities of the conflict that occurs in such a hierarchy like prosperity and corruption, the relationship between a king and a queen, with those figures and the people, or so on.
In this open call of “King and Queen,” artists will have the freedom to interpret those royal characters and create something original. It is open to all mediums.
+Eligibility
The exhibition is open to all artists, 18 year old or older, working and living in US. Work must be original and executed within the past three years.
+Media and Theme
It is open to all media including painting, drawing, sculpture, photography, video, performance, clothing and installation.
+Award
3-8 accepted artists will be included in the group exhibition opening on April 4th, 2008.

Saturday, March 2nd, 2008 Entries due
Applications must be postmarked no later than March 2nd.
Saturday, March 8th, 2008 Notification of acceptance
Friday, April 4th, 2008 Exhibition opening and reception
Sunday, April 30th, 2008 Exhibition closes
+Entry Fee
Each artist is invited to submit the maximum of three works.
• A non-refundable entry fee of $10 for three entries MUST accompany the work.
• AG Gallery accepts cash/check or money order.
• Please make checks or money orders payable to About Glamour Inc. (The submission made with the check or money order payable to AG Gallery CANNOT BE ACCEPTED.)

Entries may be submitted on and will be juried from digital images on CD, DVD and VHS.
