Windows Brooklyn is now accepting applications and propsals from local artists to participate in this exciting community exhibition. Please read all of the information below carefully and submit your proposal and supporting materials electronically to us via email by midnight, April 22, 2008.

April 22, 2008: midnight: Submission deadline
May 1, 2008: Artist notification
June 13, 2008: install work in storefront windows
June 14, 2008: Exhibition opens, Opening celebration, 5 p.m.
June 21, 2008: Artist walk: artists available to talk about their work, Closing reception
June 22-23, 2008: deinstallation of work
Application Guidelines
Precedence will be given to artists living in Brooklyn and the New York City area.
The vision of Windows Brooklyn is to give contemporary artists a chance to have fun and make new work.
Open to artists in all mediums: painting, sculpture, photography, video, mixed-media, writing, performance, film, drawing, etc.
Preference will be given to proposals that take the site and venue (the idea of window) into consideration
Please take into consideration that all proposals must be approved by the store-owners.
Please feel free to tailor your proposal to a specific participating window, however this is not a guaranteed collaborative match.
Artists are responsible for all installation and de-installation of artwork, according to the shop owner’s time schedule, and must work as efficiently as possible so as not to interrupt the daily commerce.
Artists are responsible for restoring the space back to its found condition: there are no exceptions.
Sales are between the artist and the business-owner. Windows Brooklyn is a not-for-profit team.

Please email all information requested below to: windowsbrooklyn@gmail.com by April 22, 2008. Incomplete applications cannot be considered.

2. Please submit the following as one (1) Word document saved as lastname_firstname.doc
Project proposal (one paragraph), including store preference, if you have one
Artist Statement (one paragraph)
Resume (limit to one page)
Image list (indicating which images are proposal sketches)
3. Please submit the following as JPEG image files numbered and saved as lastname_firstname01.jpg, etc. Images should be saved at 72 dpi no larger than 500 pixels in any direction.
1 or 2 proposal sketches
3-5 examples of other work, unless you submitted a website URL that contains examples of your work
4. Please submit $10 application fee via Paypal at windowsbrooklyn.com bold word(s) Windows Brooklyn
