9 Noll St, Corner of Bushwick Ave
Brooklyn, NY 11206

Sponsored by the Fine Arts Committee, Pro-Bono Steering Committee and the Second Judicial District of the Entertainment Arts & Sports Law Section of the New York State Bar Association.
Please join us for a special opening event for Bushwick Open Studios 2012 Weekend, an annual arts festival created by Arts in Bushwick. A stellar panel of art lawyers will provide artists and anyone interested in art with the basics in copyright, fair use, and artist-dealer consignment agreements. This is a wonderful opportunity to learn and ask questions. If you are wondering how copyright law protects your work, whether you can legally appropriate, and what a gallery?s legal obligations are to you -- with or without a written contract -- this is an event not to be missed!
Moderator: Judith B. Prowda, Esq., Senior Lecturer, Sotheby's Institute of Art; Law Office of Judith B. Prowda, New York City
Richard A. Altman, Esq. - Altman Law, New York City
Megan Maxwell, Esq. - Attorney, New York City
Carol J. Steinberg, Esq. - School of Visual Arts; Attorney in New York City and East End of Long Island
The artists of Transformation and the Pioneers of Bushwick project will be in attendance at the reception. These two exhibits at the Diana H. Jones Senior Center, curated by local artist Daryl-Ann Saunders for the June 1st through 3rd Bushwick Open Studios event, support the Center's initiative as a vital community cultural center.
