THE LONG FROM INSIDE; Orit Ben-Shitrit & Harold Moss; (USA); TRT: 3.14; Digi
The Long from Inside is a digital moving-image composition that gives a glimpse into a psychological state reflecting both internal and external realities. At its heart is a reconstructed narrative of a quotidian cinematic world that slowly begins to rupture.
SUBWAY; Angela Ferraiolo; (USA); TRT: 7.40; Digi
SUBWAY is a generative montage I have programmed on a computer. The original video was separated into single frames, color graded, and stored in data arrays. I then write a number of algorithms a computer uses to assemble the movie. I can print the final results to a file, or if you like, we can use a computer to generate the move live. The algorithm for SUBWAY can also take motion input from the audience through a sensor, that is it, the movie can be shown as an interactive montage.
BLIND DATE: Dayna Moses (performer & director );(USA); TRT: 8:52; Digi
Inside this self-reflected world, identity and truth are questioned as the line between imagination and reality are blurred.
INSIDE OUT; Liliana Resnick; (Croatia); TRT: 8.00; digi
Through superimpositions and repetitions this is a new approach to the dance-like material and visualization. One man. One woman. His violence. Her fear. In a repetitive cycle of violence a man empowers himself by destroying a woman.
LILLY; Jodie Mack; (USA); TRT: 6.30; 16MM print to screen
Animated photo negatives illustrate a WWII tragedy.
FIREFLY: Dariya Yalova; (USA/Ukraine); featuring: Olga Alimanovic; TRT: 4.48; Digi
Firefly is poetic video inspired by a friend, who was a ballet dancer in the past and writings by Haruki Murakami. Shot in the open spaces of Marine Park and Floyd Bennett Field in Brooklyn it explores the notion of freedom versus gravity.
