Arbor Day Service Learning Day
Thursday April, 25th Human Impacts Institute is having a service learning day with Brooklyn Arbor School in South Williamsburg. Brooklyn Arbor School is a brand new environmental magnet school that was established in September 2012 and currently hosts grades K-3. Brooklyn Arbor School will be partnering with Human Impacts Institute for the Brooklyn Arts Council, Arts Education Partner Grant for the 2012-2013 grant cycle. The program involves stewardship and education days with Brooklyn Arbor School students. Human Impacts Institute will be educating the Brooklyn Arbor School youth about the importance of tree health and how it relates to overall environmental and community health. The first workshop with Human Impacts Institute and the Brooklyn Arbor School students is April 25th. This workshop will involve a tree stewardship education and action led by Human Impacts Institue. Students will clean up and care for the trees surrounding their school! Students will immediately see the affects of their actions as the workshop will beautify the area around the school!
