This, not to be missed vibrant and diverse season, will be more than enjoyable to a wide range of interests. The festival will be themed around the works of Black visual and written word artists of the past and present. Opening night will feature works by three on the edge choreographers-Tommie-Waheed Evans, Nijawwon Matthews and Lakai Worrell. They will use for inspiration works by African American visual artists. Closing night will showcase the works by three of today’s most powerful new choreographers- Gierre Godley, Roger C. Jeffrey and Malcolm Low. These choreographers will use as motivation and inspiration works by black gay/same gender loving (SGL) writers. This season promises much through this unprecedented melding of art forms.
