Recitations not from memory is an installation of video works on gendered experience representing Sunita Prasad's residency in Bangalore, India this past spring. Women's stories of discrimination are re-mapped onto men's performances in an introspective translation of experience. The Recitations will be installed on monitors throughout the space for leisurely individual viewing, and capped off with a projected clip reel of Indian women surviving fires in Bollywood (and some Hollywood) cinema. Limca cocktails and samosas will be served. Free and open to all.

November 6th, 7PM at the Sunview Luncheonette
221 Nassau Ave at N. Henry in Greenpoint. G to Nassau Ave.
