An irreverent take on an ancient celebration! The Super Fun Variety Show invites Jews and non-Jews alike to participate an absurd yet genuine and highly interactive performance event: Super Fun Passover Seder, with new circus, burlesque, and variety acts inspired by the 10 biblical plagues!
Audience members will perform in a Seder Plate pageant, participate in call-and-response readings from the Passover story, eat holiday snacks, and drink four ceremonial cups of wine (give or take). Sibling sensations Ellia and Josh Bisker will host the show as gender-bending incarnations of the prophets Elijah and Miriam, and introduce a panoply of circus performers, aerial artists, physical comedians, acrobats, magicians, and more. The evening will conclude with a live Klezmer band dance party.
The Brooklyn Arts Council has awarded a small grant to Super Fun Variety in support of The Super Fun Passover Seder. We aim to match that grant through this campaign to ensure we can cover the cost of paying the many talented artists in this show what we've committed to them. If we surpass our funding goal, additional funds will be used toward production and promotion expenses, show photography/videography, and to increase the compensation we've guaranteed to the band.
The Super Fun Passover Seder is a co-production with The Muse Brooklyn, produced in partnership with Film Biz Recycling. This project is made possible with public funds from the Decentralization Program of the New York State Council on the Arts, administered in Kings County by Brooklyn Arts Council.
