Entering the Griot’s Circle: Narrative Explorations of the Old and New
What happens when an up-an-coming theatre company (Modern-Day Griot Theatre Company) decides to request submissions of new plays to serve as companion pieces to “The African Company Presents Richard III”?
The result: a performance of Carlyle Brown’s historic piece paired with the world premiere of works produced by an up-and-coming playwrights. Our new interdisciplinary project, “Entering the Griot’s Circle: Narrative Explorations of the Old and New” celebrates the established playwright’s passing the baton to emergent playwrights.
