Good fences make good neighbors." - Robert Frost ROART is a multidisciplinary architecture and design firm with offices in Manhattan and Brooklyn and we would like to invite you to submit a design concept for the Brookland Fence Project.
WHAT: The Brookland Fence project is a unique opportunity for Brooklyn based artists to design dynamic, street-level fences on the property of a series of new residential buildings in Brooklyn. These buildings are developed by Brookland Capital and designed by ROART.
WHY: As a part of new building code, many residential condos now require parking. Because the parking areas are located on the ground floor, a functional fence must enclose the space.
WHERE: BROOKLYN! Clinton Hill, Bushwick, Bedford-Stuyvesant, Lefferts Garden, etc.
WHO: Creative Brooklynites, all types of artists are welcome to apply: designers, painters, sculptors, welders, architects, fabricators, etc.
WHEN: Now! We have over 15 new residential buildings that need fences.
Our aim is to work with local artists who have the ability to capture the essence of the community and seamlessly infuse our new buildings with the spirit and character of Brooklyn. We are seeking innovative designs and welcome the use of nontraditional materials and technologies. Artists will be compensated.
Please submit examples of your work, a list of what materials you work with, and a few sentences about yourself and why you're interested to email@example.com
