“For A Better Life,” is the newest documentary short film produced by the Foster Care Film and Community Engagement Project (FCFCEP).
Sold for $100 at the age of 5, Fekri suffers through years of abuse before his plight is discovered. After almost a year of hospitalization and therapy Fekri moves into a group home where he finds support, mentorship, and eventual forgiveness towards the family which sold him.

A filmmaker Q&A and moderated discussion panel about foster care and child trafficking will follow the screening. Panelists will be announced shortly.
Tickets are $15 online and $20 at the door. A portion of the proceeds from ticket sales will directly benefit foster youth served by City Living NY. City Living NY provides household goods and social support for youth aging out of the foster care system.
