ROOFTOP FILMS, in collaboration with Solar One and IFP Independent Film Week present BURNING IN THE SUN:
A documentary feature film about young West African Daniel Dembele, who wants to build a business crafting solar panels from scratch and selling them to rural customers who’ve never before experienced electricity. Controversial stances on climate change, poverty, and African self-sufficiency fortify this story of growing up as a man, and prospering as a nation. Admission is free. Reception to follow screening with free Radeberger Pilsner.
WHERE: On the pier at Solar One, 23rd Street @ the East River (Kips Bay, Manhattan).
R/6 to 23rd St., walk all the way east.
