The Chassidic Art Institute (CHAI) was founded in 1977 to encourage the development of Chassidic art, which has its roots in Eastern European Jewish traditions. The only organization of its kind in the world, the institute houses a gallery, organizes traveling exhibitions, and hosts performances from its headquarters in the Crown Heights neighborhood.
