The brand new Brooklynite Gallery is located in the Stuyvesant Heights neighborhood of Bedford Stuyvesant, Brooklyn. With a penchant for pop art and an instinctive ear to the ground, Brooklynite Gallery’s director Rae McGrath is breaking new ground in Bed Stuy. As an artist and filmmaker born & raised in Brooklyn, this artist-run gallery is geared towards street art with a hint of pop—but not necessarily. McGrath feels the art that will be featured at Brooklynite should not be defined by category. “When you see something, and it just works---that’s the kind of art we plan to show.” The premiere exhibition is a pioneer street artist BAST.
