Visual artist. Focus is on drawing, painting and collage. Certain exhibitions have become site specific installations and wall murals. Work has been exhibited at numerous galleries, museums and art venues including; The Queens Museum Bulova Corporate Center, Eyewash at Aqua Art Miami - 2007, Holland Tunnel Gallery in Brooklyn, Arthouse at The Jones Center for Contemporary Art in Austin, Texas, The Dieu Donne Papermill in NYC, Feigen Contemporary Gallery (now Kinz, Tillou & Feigen), in NYC, Elizabeth Harris Gallery in NYC, The New York Studio School, The Pelham Art Center, in Pelham, NY and The Elaine Benson Gallery in Bridgehampton, NY. Recent small works are available for viewing in the Flatfiles at Pierogi Gallery in Williamsburg, Brooklyn and in The Viewing Program at The Drawing Center. Betsy received a grant from the New York Foundation for the Arts for 9/11 Recovery and received awards for artist residencies at The Vermont Studio Center and The Chautauqua Institution. She studied at the University of California San Diego, and got her BA in Fine Art from San Diego State University. She also received numerous honors and was awarded a Certificate from The Studio Program at The New York Studio School in 1998. In addition to being an art teacher, Betsy has worked in set design for television, film and theater and has been a window display artist.
