I’m a Brooklyn native, with a desire to capture change, the disappearing markers of our history. My goal is to combine observation and commentary, and for my art to engage the viewer’s senses. I paint and draw and make multi-dimensional pieces using found and created objects. I also create glazed ceramic tile paintings. I enjoy the tactile quality of tile, the rhythm imposed on an artwork by dividing it into units, and the challenges of working with an unpredictable medium. These pieces tend to be heavy and fragile, but that's part of the challenge.
My undergraduate art studies were at Brooklyn College, with additional courses at NY Academy of Art, SVA, Hunter College, the Manhattan Graphics Center and Urban Glass. I’ve also shown art with BAM, St. Joseph's College, Trestle and Abrazo Interno Gallery, among others, and also created murals and public art displays in Flatbush and Bay Ridge.
