Exploring the City the summer of 2002 I found a hexagon shaped manhole cover in lower Manhattan and I wondered why a hexagon? I continued to discover the hexagon throughout NYs urban landscape in books on Buckminster Fuller and in the grocery line when a woman in front of me was buying Honeycomb Cereal. These discoveries furthered my interest in the shape and stimulated ideas on organized arrangements and structures. Painting is my passion and as I continue discover hexagons they have become an obsession to create a body of work based on this one shape.
