Through my photography I am interested in uncovering the surface beauty and darker mysteries of the landscape. My current series, "lovely, dark and deep" employs long exposures made at dusk. The resulting images are filled with lush shadowy spaces of both clarity and haze depict what it's like to be in the woods at that time of day, but also represent how memory, and specifically my own memories of being in the woods as a child, can be both crystal clear and elusive, both comforting and distresssing.
