Paulom is a drummer, mridangam percussionist and electronic musician based in Brooklyn, NY. He was born and raised in Vadodara city of Gujarat State, India. Since his childhood, he has been pursuing rhythm studies in drumset and dholak in India. He has played drums for various bands and musicians at festivals and events.
Paulom completed undergraduate degree in Architecture in India and moved to New York to complete his Masters degree in Architecture. He studied drumming with Fred Klatz at Drummers Collective (New York City), Jim Payne and Mike Clark. He explored audio production and electronic music production at Berklee Music and Dubspot.
Currently, he is pursuing a traditional apprenticeship in mridangam (South Indian percussion) in India with award winning Guru Kalaimamani R. Natarajan Pillai.
He is also a trained facilitator for REMO’s Health RHYTHMS. He has collaborated with other musicians, dancers, artists, filmmakers and conducted workshops at arts organizations, schools and educational institutes.
