American artist Conrad Ventur (b. Seattle, raised Connecticut) lives and works in Brooklyn and received his MFA in Art Practice from Goldsmiths College, London in 2008. Ventur creates kaleidoscopic environments within the realm of expanded cinema that raise questions regarding time and space, biography, aspiration, obsolescence, longing, sincerity and quotation. Ventur also works with Warholian 'Superstars' to re-stage films from the 60s that they originally participated in, and his photographic practice envisions a mutable New York using 35mm film and disposable cameras. Across his projects, the passage of time is magnified and upended as past and present are united in a narrative that connects the subjects and the artist himself. Recent solo exhibitions include The Andy Warhol Museum, Pittsburgh; Momenta Art, NY; Forever & Today, NY; Rokeby, London. Since 2004, he has published the art newspaper, USELESS.
